Colorful Chameleons ★★[New!]

On the island of Polychromos lives a special species of chameleon, the Polychromatic chameleon. This reptile can assume three colors: blue, green, or purple. A remarkable characteristic of these chameleons is that they only change color when two different color variants encounter each other. In that case, both chameleons take on the third color variant (the color that neither had before the encounter). For example, if a purple and a blue chameleon meet, both change their color to green. Currently, there are 45 of these animals on the island. There are 13 blue, 15 green, and 17 purple chameleons.

The question: Is it possible for the 45 Polychromatic chameleons to all be the same color at some point, and why?
